Delete your account
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This page explains how to delete your VideoGamesKeeper account and the data linked to it. It applies to videogameskeeper.com and to the VideoGamesKeeper apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.
1. Delete it yourself, in the app
- Open VideoGamesKeeper on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and sign in.
- Go to Profile and open Security.
- Under Danger zone, choose Delete account and confirm.
If your account has a password, you will be asked for it. If you sign in with Google, with Apple or with a code sent to your email, we may ask you to confirm it is you first.
The deletion happens right away and cannot be undone.
2. Ask us to delete it
If you cannot use the app - for example, because you only use the website - you can ask us to delete the account for you:
- Write to us through the Contact page, or at hello@videogameskeeper.com, from the email address of your account.
- Tell us you want your account deleted. Add your username if you remember it.
- We may reply to that address to check the request is yours. Once it is confirmed, we delete the account within 30 days.
3. What is deleted
- Your account: email address, name, username, password, the sign-in methods linked to it (Google, Apple) and every open session.
- Your profile: avatar, bio, preferences and privacy settings.
- Your library: the games you added, with their status, ratings, playtime, dates, copies and progress, and your private notes.
- Your Steam link and everything brought in from Steam (games and achievements).
- Your social data: who you follow and who follows you, follow requests, your activity, your reactions and the reactions to your activity, your notifications and your blocks.
- Push notifications: the registration of every device you were signed in on.
4. What is kept
- Notes you made public. They stay visible to other players, shown as written by "Deleted user" and no longer linked to a profile. If you would rather remove them, delete them before deleting your account, or tell us in your request.
- Direct messages you sent. They stay in the other person's conversation so it remains readable, but without your identity: they appear as sent by "Deleted user", and any game or activity attached to them is removed.
- Reports. Reports you sent, and reports others sent about your account or your messages, are kept as moderation records.
5. How long it takes
Deleting from the app is immediate. As our Privacy Policy states, any personal data that remains is removed within 30 days, except for what we must retain for legal reasons.
6. Questions
For anything else about your data, reach out via the Contact page.
