Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By accessing or using VideoGamesKeeper ("VGK", "the service") at videogameskeeper.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

VGK is a personal video game library management tool. It lets you track your collection, organize games by status, and see public metadata about games sourced from IGDB.

VGK is provided as a personal, non-commercial project, free of charge. There is no paid tier.

3. Your account

To use most features of VGK you need an account. You agree that:

  • You will provide accurate information when registering
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • One person may only operate one account
  • You will notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other accounts, or underlying infrastructure
  • Use automated means (scrapers, bots) to extract data at scale
  • Overload the service or interfere with its operation
  • Abuse, harass, or impersonate others through the service
  • Reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the service's code or content in violation of applicable licenses

5. Your content

Your library data (the games you track, your ratings, your notes) belongs to you. By using VGK, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the service.

You can export or delete your data at any time.

6. Third-party content

Game metadata (titles, covers, descriptions, ratings, screenshots) is provided by IGDBand remains subject to IGDB's terms and the rights of the original copyright holders. VGK displays this content under IGDB's API terms and does not claim ownership.

7. Service availability

VGK is self-hosted as a personal project. While we aim to keep the service available, we make no uptime guarantees. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, hardware issues, upstream provider outages, or other reasons.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that could harm other users, the service itself, or us.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will not be lost.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of VGK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (such as gross negligence or willful misconduct, or statutory consumer rights in Spain and the EU).

11. Intellectual property

The VGK name, logo, design, and original code are the property of the operator of VGK. You may not use them without permission, except as allowed by applicable law or license.

Game metadata and imagery belong to their respective rights holders.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms over time. If we make material changes, we'll announce them on the site. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the new Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the competent courts of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence in the EU.
